Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, joined us at our happy hours, and connected with our team during RE+ 2025. Each year, this event brings together the brightest minds in the clean energy space, and this year was no exception. With a lot of uncertainty in the market after recent federal policy shifts, the mood and conversations remained positive, with confidence that the solar and energy storage market will continue to thrive. The conversations, insights, and connections we had at this year’s show reinforced why we’re committed to creating and innovating our product offering to meet the ever-changing needs and policy changes that come with our industry.
Trends We Heard at RE +
One of the most common topics was FEOC (Foreign Entity of Concern) compliance, with many developers seeking clarity and flexibility regarding sourcing requirements following the passing of the One Big Beautiful Bill and the updated ITC eligibility criteria. While we’re still waiting for final guidance, we’re actively exploring ways to ensure ETB’s tools can support compliance and provide transparent reporting, enabling customers to move projects forward with confidence. Our team works very closely with our customers who are installing and commissioning energy storage projects to support them. Tariffs and trade uncertainty also took center stage. With shifting policies creating volatility in equipment pricing and availability, accurate forecasting and scenario modeling are more critical than ever to help ensure pricing that you are confident in presenting to your customers.
The One Big Beautiful Bill sent shockwaves through the industry, and while Energy Toolbase is not a legal advisory firm, we’re committed to keeping our users informed and sharing our perspective. We want to discuss the questions that we have asked ourselves or that you have asked in response to the One Big Beautiful Bill’s impact on our industry. You can submit those here.
The themes at this year’s event confirmed the importance for our team of building tools that are both flexible and future-ready. Our latest features, whether it’s enhanced design tools, smarter operating schedules, or a new framework for grid services, are built to help developers navigate exactly these kinds of challenges.

Introducing the New Energy Toolbase Website
Alongside our many platform enhancements, we have launched a completely redesigned Energy Toolbase website this year. The new site makes it easier to explore our full suite of products and services, find resources like client stories and blogs, and connect with our team. With a cleaner design and improved navigation, the site reflects our growth as a company and our dedication to providing our customers with a seamless experience from the very first click.
One-Click Designs: Instant Project Launches
One of the most talked-about enhancements was One-Click Designs, which gives developers the ability to launch complete project designs instantly. By streamlining the design configuration process down to a single action, project teams can reduce time spent on repetitive setup tasks and focus instead on fine-tuning proposals that win business.
Smarter Dispatch with ETB Controller and Acumen AI™
On the control side, ETB Controller is advancing rapidly. We showcased new Operating Schedule Modes, including the upcoming Acumen AI Modes, which will introduce smarter, more automated dispatch strategies in the field. Acumen AI leverages machine learning to forecast load and solar production, then adapts system operations in real-time to capture maximum savings. These modes are designed to give operators confidence that their projects are always performing optimally, no matter how conditions change.
Grid Services Made Simple
We also highlighted our continued work to expand grid service capabilities. Last year, we introduced grid services on the ETB Developer platform to make it easier and faster to configure projects for participation in demand response and grid services programs. Since then, we’ve added support for major programs in the Northeast, like ConnectedSolutions and Clean Peak Standard, giving developers more opportunities to capture additional value streams. With this flexible foundation, customers can respond quickly as new programs come online and ensure their projects are positioned to maximize revenue.
Expanded Net Metering Support
As policies evolve, accurate rate modeling remains essential to project success. That’s why we expanded Net Metering Support in ETB Developer with a new NEM Programs functionality. Instead of manually configuring complex NEM tariffs, users can now select from pre-built programs created and maintained by our Utility Rate team. This makes it easier to model policy changes, compare different NEM scenarios, and ensure financial projections reflect real-world conditions accurately.
