Frequently
Asked Questions

Who is eligible to participate in DLRP?

Eligible participants include commercial and industrial customers located in Con Edison’s service area who can reduce electrical load during events. Most participants must be able to curtail at least 50 kW, either individually or through aggregation, and have interval metering in place.

Participants can earn capacity (reservation) payments for committing load reduction capability or Performance payments based on actual kWh reduced during events
Payments depend on the participation option selected and verified event performance.

DLRP events typically occur during summer peak demand periods when grid conditions are constrained. Events are usually called with up to two hours’ notice, though notice times may vary depending on system needs.

Energy Toolbase simplifies participation across the full lifecycle. ETB Developer models DLRP revenue potential alongside energy savings and storage economics. ETB Controller enables optimized, automated dispatch during DLRP events. Energy Toolbase works closely with approved aggregators like CPower to streamline enrollment and program execution.

Most participants enroll through an approved aggregator, which manages enrollment, event notifications, and settlement with the utility. Energy Toolbase integrates seamlessly with aggregator workflows, making it easier to participate without added complexity.
